No matter what I played, the Blackbird allowed the music to reach out and touch me. The arm might not impede or obstruct the music, but there’s no escaping the feeling that it revels in the emotional intensity that created it. By letting through more of the signal and by allowing it to make more sense, it also allows through more of the artists’ original intent, be that joyous and uplifting, contemplative or deeply affecting.
…The Supatrac Blackbird isn’t for everyone: It doesn’t look like most tonearms and in use, it doesn’t feel like them either. „…Lastly, one of my main criteria for evaluating a product is whether it manages to connect the material being played with me on an emotional level. That has to be a resounding yes. In many ways, despite it being a unipivot, the Blackbird presents one of the most, if not the most stable and coherent aural images I have ever experienced with vinyl. Some unipivot arms can wobble with the result that the stylus changes its angle within the groove. The way that the Blackbird is suspended, that simply doesn’t happen. The pull of the cartridge along the length of the arm actually drags the pivot points together, so there’s absolutely no chance of it chattering, even on a microscopic level.
…In short, I really can’t praise it enough, and for a new kid on the block to perform like this is really quite a testament to the designer’s vision.”

Giving a right Royal punishing now to see where it misses but can't find it after four hours of throwing the most challenging material at it. Hearing stuff deep in the mix that I never knew was there!! Rare that happens at such a price point."

Auf der High-End-Messe in München 2023 bot sich uns erstmals die Gelegenheit, den Supatrac Blackbird in Aktion zu erleben. Bereits bei den ersten Takten Musik war offensichtlich, dass dieser Tonarm etwas Außergewöhnliches darstellt. Ein intensiver Austausch mit dem äußerst sympathischen Entwickler und Produzenten, Richard Braine, über die Technologie und Vision hinter dem Blackbird verstärkte unseren Eindruck. Es stand fest: Wir mussten diesen Tonarm in unser Sortiment aufnehmen.
